SportsManager is the result of over 20 years experience in the database programming area coupled with many years experience in working with Youth Sports organizations. In 2001, SportsManager Solutions, Inc. entered into an agreement to provide a custom database for Youth Sports Management. And the rest is history as they say....
Although SportsManager Solutions, Inc. has experience with older PC based database programming known as DBASE, about 7 years ago the company started programming in the modern SQL database environment. About 5 years ago SportsManager Solutions, Inc. started integrating Credit Card payments and Emailing functions into database applications.
Once we started designing a database for Sports Management we realized that all of our commercial technologies and experience (On-Line payment, Emailing, Internet databases) could be put together to provide a break through solution for Youth Sports management. So that is what we did.
Compared to most of the software available for Youth Sports, the SportsManager was (and is) a break through is each area. By accessing the database over the Internet organizations can share the maintenance workload with multiple people at once. Previously (and with PC based software) only one person at a time can access the database. With SportsManager, sports organizations are no longer dependent on any one person to maintain the data or access the data. Also, SportsManager is designed so that no data can be accidentally (or on purpose) deleted. With data backup and Internet security the SportsManager database is more secure than a spreadsheet or database sitting on a personal computer in someone's home.
Our second break through was to combine the 4 key sports management requirements into one integrated solution. SportsManager in the only on-line solution that combines the following major features into one integrated seamless database:
1. League Management (Season, Leagues, Divisions, Teams, Rosters, Reports)
2. People Management (Adults, Youth Players, Adult Players)
3. On-line (payment by credit card) and Off-Line (payment by check) Registration for Individuals (youth or adult players), Activities or Teams.
4. Emailing. Send email to Board Members, Volunteers, Team Management, By Player age, By team assignment, By registration status.
